International Artexpo New York

Green Artist Challenge - 2009  The Wyland Foundation

For for its 31st year in the nation’s art capital, International Artexpo New York returned to the Jacob Javits Center, Feb. 26 – March 2, 2009, with a fresh outlook for 2009. Building on the success of last year’s show, the newly established Artexpo Hall of Fame (hosted by Jane Seymour) and the overwhelming presence of international artists, galleries and collectors, International Artexpo New York 2009 was a must-see event for both beginning and avid collectors and art-lovers. The show promised to bring, and delivered, the most exciting emerging and established artists, the most innovative artworks, the latest trends and styles and much more, which further established International Artexpo New York as the premier fine and popular art event.

New to the show this year was the exciting Artexpo Global Green Challenge. Teaming up with renowned environmental artist and advocate Wyland, International Artexpo New York created several green events with exhibiting artists and the community which raised awareness of environmental issues in the art world.
“The green movement is sweeping across every industry, and we’re excited to be on board,” Smith says. “Every artist and gallery has the power to be green, and we’re going to encourage them to learn more. I look forward to adding even more green elements to the show in the years to come.”
